Trouble seeing my cows bulling! At moment I see 2 today with plenty of slime at tail. Not excited nor showing any signs of sweating. Been getting meal since nice calving and post calving licks. Also cosicure blouses. Have kamar patches on tails [emoji849] any advice??
Kamars need to be placed at the point where the brisket of the cow mounting makes contact with the bulling cow so on the back between the hips/pinbones not on the tail as mentioned in your post. Pressure for more than 3 seconds effects the colour change. Have you read the instructions?

Try Sepia 200c , think it's only £6.99 on Amazon(for 100 tablets). Only use one dose per cow , apparently works well but never had to use it myself.

Have u heard of other farmers use this? Could b worth a shot if it gives the hormones a boost
No it's in my Herdsman's Introduction to Homoeopathy book , was going to use it on a heifer that I didn't see bulling but she came bulling before I tried it.
£6.99 isn't a lot to risk if it doesn't work.

I’m just wondering would it do any harm giving 2 considering a my cows are +600kg? [emoji106] worth a try at £6.99 for sure since ai is costing approx £30 a pop

I would just try the one tablet/ cow as it recommends only one dose , 200c is a strongish dose .
Write down when your cows are clear draining to build a picture of when their bulling. Personally if their clear draining & cycling right I'd serve them when you see the clear draining.
Also with my sucklers I keep minerals in front of them which seems to help.

I use AI on my 65 sucklers. I use a snipped strong bull calf from the previous year with a moocall heat collar. I use easy calving charolais on cows and stabiliser on heifers. I have a decent maternal saler bull as a sweeper. But he is getting on now.

My dad was scanning them yesterday as I was at work. 61 out of 65 cows in calf and 15 out of 17 heifers. My cows are a real mix of saler, stabiliser, hereford and angus.

Have my own flask and do my own AI for 3 weeks. Then put bull in with cows. This year I kept AIing cows for a week after bull went in and if more than 1 cow bulling at once would AI them the next day. Lim stock bull and AIed with BB. So will know next year if any held to AI after bull.

Has anybody kept Lodge Hamlet sired heifers for breeding and if so what were they like to calve? I have a couple out of bluex cows I would like to keep but I've heard it said heifers from easy calving sires may be harder calving due to narrower pelvises. Is there any truth in this, and would it be worth getting them pelvic scored?
