Air con , I hate it

Love it. Means you can keep the back window in the three inches open stage. Hear everything, but not be choked with dust, chaff, dry vegetation, flies, and whatever else might float in. Keeps the cab a bit cleaner too. Not every surface is coated in dust in the first five minutes of operation. Oh, and better for your hearing too.

Love it.
£1k to get it up and running in other tractor next week.
Savings in bale wrap will cover it. :)

Never wanted it in the 40 's , open the door propped open with a claw hammer .. no probs , the fastrac is a bayitch , doors open the wrong way as do the windows , and no sunroof ffs . :poop:

We used to have various drivers for grain/straw/silage etc and was always astounded getting into the tractor and finding air con on full blast and fan on max. God knows what they do on a hot day?
Our relief driver now, calls it a refrigeration unit, rarely uses it and sits in there with a thick cap and jacket on. Having a cab and not having to chuck small bales around is a novelty for him.

Pet hate getting in a tractor and the air con and fan have not been turned off the night before

Having an open bottle of water helps.

Hate tractors that only have vents pointing at your legs. Fine until you try and get out and end up in a heap because your knees have stopped working!
Not just mine then!!
Pillocks, whoever thought it was a good idea needs a good talking to.
I much preferred the roof mounted ones, point them anywhere and get a nice cool atmosphere, dash mounted ones, pretty much only point at you, and freeze the knees.
Horrible.

you should drink plenty of water when in a cab with air con, like you would if it was hot and sweaty. many make the mistake that if its cold you don't drink much. air con sucks moisture out of the body. as badshot said get an air con bomb and set it off preferably early in the year to kill bugs and germs

First year we had a tractor with air-con i had a cold all summer. Clever people just have it pleasantly cool in the cab on low fan speed not chilled on flat out.
