Aldi meat prices

We have had a new Aldi open near to where we live. The wife did a shop there the other day and brought some British 21 day aged ribeye and sirloin steak home. These were very nice and tender and full of flavour. Having asked her about the price I found out it is £7/kg cheaper than the equivalent product from Sainsbury's.

My question is who is taking the hit on this lower price?

We buy most of our meat direct from some of our customers because we know where it comes from and are able to support the people that support us. We also use a local butcher from time to time. However these options are not always available to us. Having all major supermarkets on the door step, when convenience is a necessity for my wife running a house of five, where should she buy her meat to support the producer?

Loss leader? Aldi taking the hit. Whilst in the shop getting your bargain steak you do the rest of the weeks shopping, the thought of the steak makes you feel hungry...never do food shopping when hungry.

Also fruit and veg is known for being far superior than all of the other supermarkets!
The meat is also very very good!
Even the nappies are far better than anything else on the market!
The wife only needs 2 things from Tesco that Aldi don’t do. Tesco shop used to be £100-110/week-ish, Aldi is £85-£90 for 10-12days!

The main problem when I go to Aldi I come back with random tools, all has been excellent so far with the Ratchet from a huge socket set (£32) also being used as a hammer and it’s still like new! Air compressor kit for £15 the other day, very good quality and works as well as Draper!
I’m not quite sure if i’d Buy the welder they have there though...
