Aldi, Moy Park and the National Pig Association (NPA) have been announced as winners of their categories at the 2024 Food Management Today (FMT) Food Industry Awards.
Aldi was announced as the winner of the Food Retailer of the Year Award at the awards ceremony yesterday (Thursday, June 27), which was held at the Royal Garden Hotel in London.
Moy Park was awarded the Food Manufacturer of the Year Award and the NPA took home the Best Trade Organisation Award.
The FMT Food Industry Awards aim to promote innovation, excellent service and great products from different sectors of food production, manufacturing and retailing.
Celebrity chef and TV presenter Michel Roux Jr handed out awards to the winners at the ceremony.
The full list of 2024 FMT Food Industry Awards winners is as follows:
Editor of Food Management Today’s magazine, Joanna Thomson, said: “This industry does a fantastic job of feeding our nation, and we are proud to host this brilliant initiative each year.
“It is a pleasure to be able to recognise some of the best in the sector with friends and colleagues alike.”
The Food Industry Awards are in two parts, and FMT readers are invited to vote in seven categories.
Manufacturers and retailers can nominate products for entry into one or more of the eight product categories which will be judged by industry experts.
Awards organiser Sharon Yandell said: “These annual Awards are eagerly anticipated and have become a great success story.
“The awards offer a brilliant opportunity to recognise the work that is going on and the progress being achieved in so many areas.”

- Best Bakery Product Award: Chef’s larder 18 mini Victoria sponge cakes – Booker;
- Best Seafood Product Award: Aldi with the fishmonger ready to cook king prawns in a Thai green curry sauce;
- Best Red Meat Product Award: M&S Collection slow cooked daube of beef – by Scotbeef;
- Best Poultry Product Award: Chicken, leek and stilton pie – Owen Taylor & Sons;
- Best Dairy Product Award: Chef’s larder premium Taw Valley mature cheddar – Booker;
- Food Industry Champion Award: Chief executive of the Food and Drink Federation (FDF), Karen Betts.
