That's an excellent preg rate, seems to be an annual pattern though. What do you think the causes are?

Can’t really put my finger on it, other than the obvious, that through the winter the cows are on a level consistent diet.
Vet said normally you could see say a difference in extra attention to cows bulling but conception rate has gone up as well

Do you feed maize silage? Graze hard in the autumn?

Can’t really put my finger on it, other than the obvious, that through the winter the cows are on a level consistent diet.

We buffer all year round with maize but we did run out mid August and didn’t cut until mid October and don’t graze any harder than normal , I suppose the only difference this year we did house all the fresh calvers from early September so that could explain it plus I do live on the farm now from end October and do all the night checks

Sun's out now after lots of rain last night/this morning. Finally can get enough grass into the cows. Proteins have been hovering around 3.3% for the last month on #silagetomilk, instead of the 3.7-3.8 we are usually on this time of year
