Got some grit from these, https://www.peacocksalt.com/

Lovely stuff, my gritter man said it’s a lot better than what the council use.

Live down a deadend council road and done a deal with the local snowplough guy who has a couple of these gritters for doing lanes, I will keep some council salt here and load him if he keeps the lane gritted.

He had to use one of my bags this morning and said it was far better stuff (Shame he left the bloody discs going as I was filling it)

Flash new backing gate as well now @TomB . How many are you milking this year?
More than I have enough forage for if it snows in March.
Enough to warrant a 30k litre silo .

Or maybe he's just better at forward planning than me. I'm looking at my forth tank change in 10 years.
No. Got fed up with multiple tanks, could have put in a third tank, that was our cheapest option but would have meant pumping milk, 100’+, (the silo is much closer to the milk pump than the old tank rooms) having to switch tanks during milking which always ended up with milk on the floor. It’s a bit of a luxury but makes it easy. And only one tank to maintain. Come and have a look if you want. There’s another one, near Salisbury that probably has done the little room on the front a bit better than ours.
Tb free your meant to be milking less cows.
30k silo would take an hour or 2 to drain out if they couldn't collect your milk
experience tells me about 10k an hour. Not so bad in jan but less great in March.
