Which is why we need to be able to pay a wage sufficient to attract people that want to learn and do the job.
If that lad had used a phone whilst testing in my farm he would have been immediately sent home.
The first thing that would have happened when he returned to the farm would be a disciplinary meeting before he could return to work and formal written notification.
These are the processes that should be followed addressing it as your business did will not overcome the problem.
Next step then is to sack him but is there people in your area to be able to replace him

Not really and that is my original point we get monkeys because we can't afford professionals.

I still try to remain optimistic and would try to train another monkey and reward him when he shows me more.

We need to be able to compete with the construction industry haulage industry and care industry and recruit their good people and offer a better package.

H&S is gonna be a major issue on farms soon
Too many people getting seriously injured or killed
Agree. No amount of policy documents will change that though. Knowledge and attitude is what's important. And time and again - here and in the real world - it's clear that a lot of people with management responsibility in agriculture simply don't have the knowledge to manage work safely. (In my view. Other equally valid views are available.)

yep, and yield by 2 litres, it's just to hot, putting them on 'older leys' by day, they stand in a heap, and make a mess, and new leys by night, hoping they don't ! I don't know how much the drop this week will be, they haven't tested yet. Last month 29.74ppl, in the bank.
Just had latest results back
Scc halved and butterfat & protein right back up
