Have you got CCTV? I would be wary of her poking around for photos, it's always the unsuspecting ones who are the scariestSo.......
One of this years vet student who applied through here is a vegan.
Took a week to get it out of her as she didn't want us to judge, not a militant type just how it is. No biggy.
But......
Her views on climate change are that animal agriculture is all to blame and should be stopped straight away.
That poses the question, what's she doing becoming a vet?
Shes happy to feed her dog minced calves!
It is going to make for a frosty 2nd wk.
If I don't log on for a while I'm probably in jail for stomach tubing a calf.
She has said that she is delighted that we look after and care for our animals!
Interesting and not 100% comfortable

Most of us are effing stupid when we are young and can’t think for ourselves so we adopt someone else’s ideas as our own. I guess it can go a multitude of different ways for you with your student. Watching with interest.So.......

cctv footage, means diddly squat, unless it shows a serious crime, cops don't want to know.Have you got CCTV? I would be wary of her poking around for photos, it's always the unsuspecting ones who are the scariest
Shrs like the model vet student tho! Jumped right in and having a go. Her attempt at having a go and her beliefs don't marry tho. Most of us are effing stupid when we are young and can’t think for ourselves so we adopt someone else’s ideas as our own. For me my interest in dealing with stupid is significantly diminished during calving.
Weve cctv but not in the farm, you also have to warn folks well that your filming themcctv footage, means diddly squat, unless it shows a serious crime, cops don't want to know.
our farm is plastered with signs, cctv, danger stock, disease, private property etc, don't think anyone takes any notice of them.
Done an edit sorry .But aviation is a massive underestimated problem !My cousin has declared himself a vegan to save the environment.
He's is also a pillock
Ah that’s a bit different then. I had wrongly assumed she would also be useless and constantly spouting bs. Carry on!Shrs like the model vet student tho! Jumped right in and having a go. Her attempt at having a go and her beliefs don't marry tho.
She wasn't keen on tagging calfs, didn't want to hurt them, but we got her to tag one in the end.....caught her finger somehow in the taggers.
No. Not 1 bit. If she did, she be goneAh that’s a bit different then. I had wrongly assumed she would also be useless and constantly spouting bs. Carry on!
how about 'smile, you are on cctv'Weve cctv but not in the farm, you also have to warn folks well that your filming them
Sounds like it’d be right up my street if you get 2 meals every timeWe used to, but not this year. Modern diets don't compare to our farm house cooking. Making 2 meals everytime wears thin and I don't cook!
Um scratching my head to work out whoOur best vet student came to us and she was kneehigh to a grass hopper. She came as a small animal vet doing the "regulation fortnight" with no interest in anything bigger than a cat.
Her head was completely turned in that fortnight and now refuses to deal with anything smaller than foal or a calf. She milked 3 days on her own and ran rings around our Kiwi and I and she now runs a very successful practice down under.
We had a colour code using tape on the tails which worked ok, that doesn't look quality tape though. How do people mark 3/4 cows for relief milkers? We tape legs, but it doesn’t last. Are the Velcro bands any good?View attachment 981501View attachment 981502
