grass wise have had a bumper year, after 3 bad ones, but after all the rain we have had, our 'barometer', the stream through the farm, has now stopped running. That means ground reserves of water, are not back to normal levels yet, which means we are still in a water deficient position ! We are aiming to do a fifth cut of silage on some ground, to ease next year, if it doesn't rain again.
Combine in today, to cut our spring barley, depending on moisture, not sure which way to treat it, ideally below 17%, we can dry store it, and roll as and when.

Day 3 since psc......

Holsworthy had some dam expensive dry cows today🤔
they looked nice on marteye, and they were giving a lot of milk, but l did think, £1940, for a 5th calver, calved march, and not served, was getting on with it ! But takes a min of 2 buyers, to make the trade, and there were more than 2, didn't hear either mark say about marteye, or sold on marteye.

Making me wonder what my empties would be worth in the unlikely event that we pass our Tb test tomorrow
barren trade seems to be very strong, with 'gushing' reports from mkts, perhaps to 'gushing'? But certainly a chance to out some pd neg cows, just wonder how many, would buy a decent milker back in.
TB test last week, 1 i/r, so very thankful.

I love the fact he’s always with you. Mine never got that interested, but get him a helmet.
Did anyone go to the sale today? Any reports?
