As long as they don't start using the pound coins to scratch the cards offSpeaking of scratch cards, one of my guys came out with a decent idea I thought worth sharing.
They give the relief milker a quid for each marked off cow she spots in the afternoons. He wanders out at the end to write down the numbers ready for me in the morning and puts the money in their hand there and then.
Doesn't cost the earth and gets the whole team involved.
I don't understand, he pays the relief to spot them but then goes and checks them anyway to get the numbers?Speaking of scratch cards, one of my guys came out with a decent idea I thought worth sharing.

I think he means they wander out to the relief who tells him the numbers for Ross in the morning, not wanders around the cowsI don't understand, he pays the relief to spot them but then goes and checks them anyway to get the numbers?
Yeah, that would make more sense!I think he means they wander out to the relief who tells him the numbers for Ross in the morning, not wanders around the cows
some folks are likeable, some less socurrently lashing it down here
If I had a relief milker I trusted to spot heats, I would gladly give them my job

all strawed down, ready for a nice warm bed, for your cows !Finally done, clingfilm, black sheet, net and then straw/hay on top!
Won't you need to put 2nd cut on top? Finally done, clingfilm, black sheet, net and then straw/hay on top!
No, second cut is going in front, will need to put maize on top though, but thats not for a few months yet!Won't you need to put 2nd cut on top?
Telehandler boom out, grab what you can reach, roll net up, roll sheet, roll clingfilm, grab next couple of rows of bales, repeat. So how do you get the bales?
