Ointment of some sort on the wounds but NOT sudocrem, far too harsh, plenty of access to water!! I can't emphasise that enough, they will lose heaps and heaps and heaps of fluid and water through the wounds. Vit b, metacam and some tlc and you'll get there eventually.
Unfortunately I have plenty of experience on the area we've had 6 calves at dad's go down with it this year. Buttercup can cause it believe it or not

I agree, the last time I used spot on I had 10 cases of summer mastitis in 90 calvers, possibly other causes but don’t see anything like that with Swish.

No my culls haven’t been up to heifer price. heifers are £250 more than they were 5 years ago, but quite a few of the culls that have had 4/5 calves have made pretty close to what they cost.
Remember despite big cows and good grades they are classed as non farm assured as they have foreign tags.

Cows grazing a prg clover lay. Was cut 4 weeks ago as second round grazing got too strong, so 3rd round now. Been a pleasure to milk cows during this weather with great sunrises when fetching the cows at 5am.

The last 5 years have shown a place for groupers. Light cuts and hot wind doesn't need much wilt!

I'm glad I took all the tyres off this morning before 6 o'clock. Still far better than haveing to wrap 400-500 in this heat.

4/500 how many acres??
I’m doing my own 4ft 6” bales but 3/4 is the norm on multicut system.
Did some standard size and reduced density for a neighbour last week as he’s selling them on some first cut and was 5.5 to the acre.

Today's bodge that I'm quite chuffed with. The rubber seals on a couple of the pulsators leak, I've had a hiss of vacuum that has been annoying me for a few days until I realised today that a piece of old milk pipe is just the right size.

I know have nice blue silicone seals fitted!
