Clean enough to feed, we don't wash them, we would register a complaint if they were too dirty. How clean are they? Do you have to wash them?
Seen these on facebook in Cornwall the other day and thought of you. Glad you got sorted, best batches of calves always come out the hutches here.no more dead calves please

I hope so.View attachment 1055069Can get a bit of sweat on handling them when there bigger but you’ll not look back
We've undersown barley before, not oats... why oats? Suit soil type?View attachment 1055039Last pit of the year getting filled to 60 acre of spring oats with undersown grass
I hope so.
On the lookout for a second hand quad bike trailer now and an old kitchen to convert an old calf shed into a clean room to store all the feeding stuff, if anyone hears of anything!
No point keeping the hutches clean and sterile if you're feeding bugs because the bottles are kept dirty, that's my imo anyway, same with the calving area which will be on the list after that
Just some cabinets, worktop and ideally a sink. Doesn't need to be pretty just able to be sterilised and work (ie the doors cam close and open!)When you say kitchen...
I hope so.

Cause they are easy to grow lolWe've undersown barley before, not oats... why oats? Suit soil type?
Mine are all going to be on the bottles from intershape, so was going to have a trailer, fill it up every time with however many bottles needed in the kitchen, drive down there with quad, unload and then pick up all the bottles again and stick everything in the dishwasher ready for the next feedView attachment 1055078And something of the sort depending on distance and budget, I wasted a year with buckets of water
Buy a bottle for each hutch. Cut the bottom of it off at an angle to match the slope. Never take it out of the hutch till the calf is weaned, dump the milk in it.I hope so.

All he needs are a load of Mexicans and his own nuclear power station to heat all that hot water!
