I hope so.
On the lookout for a second hand quad bike trailer now and an old kitchen to convert an old calf shed into a clean room to store all the feeding stuff, if anyone hears of anything!
No point keeping the hutches clean and sterile if you're feeding bugs because the bottles are kept dirty, that's my imo anyway, same with the calving area which will be on the list after that

And something of the sort depending on distance and budget, I wasted a year with buckets of water

Mine are all going to be on the bottles from intershape, so was going to have a trailer, fill it up every time with however many bottles needed in the kitchen, drive down there with quad, unload and then pick up all the bottles again and stick everything in the dishwasher ready for the next feed

But I'll have something like that for drinking watrr

Buy a bottle for each hutch. Cut the bottom of it off at an angle to match the slope. Never take it out of the hutch till the calf is weaned, dump the milk in it.

I grew up raising calves in hutches. Would never go backwards to them

Tonights grass offering. Last field of the 5th round.

Setting the fence up for tomorrow. Exactly 21 day rotation now. Growth and utilisation has been spot on here this year. I know many years we grow more, and need to take fields from the platform out for bales often. But utilisation of grass is nowhere near as good. Know that we have been lucky in this corner of west Wales in regards to the weather. Cows have been out from 19th of March in the day, and 1st May in night, not a bit of silage fed since. However I expect no sympathy from you guys in the wet years when our best laid out grazing plans turn to mud and grumpy cows. Just glad to get the perfect spring/summer grazing season for this farm. Hope by the end of the year the season balances its self out for all you farmers in dry areas. Mother nature is always quite cleaver in that regard.
