Good old FriesianAn article in the Scottish farmer about a girl with 70 fresian cows on 180 acres and claims to have made 50k net profit last year on an average milk contract, is this realistic????

Surely an owned farm with little borrowings is a different matter than a rented farm or a recently modernised and expanded unit that the bank owns the larger share of?Yes but their selling bulls and getting 350-400 for 35 calves so milk is not their only income.
Would of thought 50k profit is before drawings and tax
Speaking of better than average contracts, have you had a new lorry down your lane yet?

Not here. They've got one of the old drivers from st erth in charge so he knows the farms anyway. We've had to tell them our milking times etcThey haven't been out for route planning then?
as a dairy novice what are the main differences between fresians and Holsteins?
Is that a lot leaving Arla? There saying concentrating milk fields around factories and have taken on a 20 million litre producer up hereSeen a lorry all branded up with roddas on the road must be taking farms on soon.
