Had to calve Tiffany this morning. 6 days over due. The calf had it's purple tongue hanging out and she keeled over while pulling but the calf was up sucking within an hour.

3 nice Torrer heifer calves (2 funny looking big dalmatians and a normal black one) so very happy.

3 hfr calves in 48hrs, i've only had five hfr calves this year so far.

Slightly more than five, but for the last two years it's a constant stream of BR FR bulls, and i'm yet to be convinced of using sexed semen on hfr and young milking cattle.

as long as you are not in a tight block calving scenario sexed semen is great
someone a damn sight cleverer than me once worked it out that it was financially viable to serve a cow three times to sexed in order to get a heifer calf rather than a beef bull
