Had to calve Tiffany this morning. 6 days over due. The calf had it's purple tongue hanging out and she keeled over while pulling but the calf was up sucking within an hour.

A couple of her mates that calved on their own yesterday and the day before.

3 nice Torrer heifer calves (2 funny looking big dalmatians and a normal black one) so very happy.

3 hfr calves in 48hrs, i've only had five hfr calves this year so far.

If you've only calved 5, that would be good going

Looks good. I notice you have rubber matting under the cows feet on the standing areas. You should consider it for the pit for the milkers. It really makes such a difference to milking.

It usually arrives in the pit before it arrives on the cows' standings This way round is unusual!

as long as you are not in a tight block calving scenario sexed semen is great
someone a damn sight cleverer than me once worked it out that it was financially viable to serve a cow three times to sexed in order to get a heifer calf rather than a beef bull
