Newton Abbot, by heck you boys can grow maize down here.

I'd say your not far from cows n grass, but i think he's my way this wkend.

Yep, not so far away. Newton Abbot is well up there on the list of Devon's ugliest places but every where around is nice as long as you stay away from Torbay or Plymouth. Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge there all good.

I'd invite you over to see a brown cow but as beef farmer says I'm off to to what could be the UKs wettest wedding tomorrow and dragging it out until Tuesday.

I have great admiration for a good friend of mine. He has school age children and a cracking 150 cow block autumn calving herd. He dried all his cows off last Friday on the last day of term and PSC is start of September.

If its who I think it is, I visited his farm and did a report on it a few years ago when I was doing my degree. Very impressive. (y)

Ffs put them in a field with a least some green grass. This is a forum open to the general public.
There is heaps of grass in there.they get a chunk of fresh every day. Sid your a plank.this is real life, it's rained all week and were calving. It's now all in the fresh calved field happy as larry.

Possibly, he's just on the top edge of Plymouth, not a high profile chap but puts a lot of effort into having a life outside of farming and spending time with his family.

He's not organic but is one of you hippie types at heart. My bedtime reading at the moment is a Gary Zimmer book he lent me on biological farming
