Forever on the move

Any suggestions, had a cow at tonight's milking with bloody milk on one quarter only. No sign of teat being trodden, quarter was hard and quite a lot of blood clots came out, but no signs of infection or mastitis.

Anyone seen anything similar before? Maybe got kicked in the udder or had her udder stood on while lying in a cubicle?
Udder mint and anti inflammatory. Usually can go back in after 3 days as long as the clots are strip so it can let it’s milk down

Under no circumstances should you use uddermint. It increases the blood flow and if she has an internal bleed that hasn’t clotted properly it could be fatal.

Pain relief and stripping of the quarter is all you can do it will get better over time.

I don’t think we have truly dried out for more than 2 weeks these past 18 months. We just got 4 inches over two days. Not unusual at all anymore

But a scientific report quoted by BBC recently said North America is in the middle of a 5 year long drought as a result of climate change?

Either you're in the wrong area or it's another example of "statistics can be made to prove whatever you want"

Mint and draw right out, could take some time, as the clots will block teat canal. We never treat them, just dump while any symptoms. Get more like this than mastitis. Never know what causes it tho. Always put it down to another cow kicked out.
She seems to be milking out fine in that quarter now after persisting with stripping it for 4 milkings to remove the clots. Still a little pinkish tinge to the milk.

Hopefully get her back in the tank in the next few days.

Cheers for the tips y’all.

Where are Watson's plastic processed. I'm delivered Lanchester milk in N Yorkshire. Extra pints required are Watson's in plastic. Kinda defeats the idea of glass is reusable [emoji50]

and we have had steady rain all night, just what was needed, all grass seeds in, 3 blocks of rape for summer, just 5 acres of kale to go, and we were waiting for rain, to do that !
