our cows currently grazing good grass and rape, but they can access another field, of older/not so good grass, which will be round-uped soon. They go and have a go at the rape/ley, then midmorning, they will spread right across the ' old ley', before returning to finish the new, then move back, to the old, where, they are barstewards to get in, absolutely stuffed ! One must assume that, like us, we like a bit of variety in our diets !

Plenty of variety here if you count docks?.

Discontent cows!
They hate this field, it's on a slope, they lie and s#£& in the only flat part so the grass there tastes awful, it's raining, and the other half just drove by on the quad but didn't rescue them. It's going to be a long day ???

No, not just you. Sometimes I come on here and think everyone's got these perfect cows and perfect fields and I've got idiots that stand in the gate at 9 am ?
No not just you. If I put my cows in a certain field at the moment they all come back and stand round the gate from about 12pm. Drives me mental as I can see them from my kitchen window. Have been known to go down there and have a full on basil fawlty style rant at them before now!

You not concerned about the lack of overlap on the side sheets? or will the front not be there long? I priced poring grains last week. Was quoted 103.5 for Trafford, with no permanent clamp and a lot of faff, think I’ll stick with dried grains at that price

No, not too bothered as we are feeding it out already.

On a cost per tonne of DM, Trafford was attractive as they needed to shift tonnage.

the huge difference we have noticed, hol to xbred, is, they don't stand in the gateways to come in, did acquire a few hols last week, they don't wait in the gateway, but are 1st in the yard. We have got hay in the racks, mainly for the eye of the needle job, bf 4.56, and pro 3.56, so might be doing some good.

There are a fair few x breds there, you couldn't see them in the photo because they were behind me grazing ??. Field is much better than it looks, most of that mud was there anyway and it's actually very dry. It might need a big of a break now though ?
