Looks like I’ve lost the use of my tractor for a while, one of our workmen is chairmen of the local round table so we always try to do our bit by donating them a tractor for their annual Santa run.

No and no, I’ve just started self feed again. Never had a problem with falling silage when I did it years ago. I wouldn’t like to do it with 10000 litre cows because intake would fall but it Works well with my little old friesians

Pity you don't have room in that wee silo for a round feeder or two if you ever wanted them in.....

Shame you can't pick it up and move that covered clamp with you. I seem to remember it caused quite a bit of hassle a few years back.

Heifers got a new playmate. 100% submission natural heat, all served sexed, so see what he picks up second time round. His 10th season of work.

Absolute star, that bull. Brought him in out of the dry cows 2 fields away and into the yard without a sniff of any trouble.

And before anyone comments, (I know what you lot are like) the bedding is only really shitty in the foreground because that is where the feed barrier is (no scrape passage). And Wednesday is one of the bed down days, so clean sheets tomorrow.

Went to Carlisle today, a run of fresh month calved heifers from Kelso, half Hol half HoJo averaged £2100 by my count. Haven’t been for a while and know they are dear, but trade today smelled like BPS had hit the bank.
