Definitely too much winter growth. I've got a problem with this land, it has no water so cant graze cattle there (sheep are fine as I can ibc water to them and they drink bugger all) but sheep are only able to go on about 12 acres of it as the other 25+ is next to an illegal gypsy camp and there dogs are used for hunting so would end in disaster 🙃 Was thinking along the line of an early cut but how early is early? Mid april? I wouldnt want to lose too much yield if i can, but it would allow a fifth cut in theory
we cut 28th march last year, wrapped it, hasn't fed that well, got acres of grass at the moment, to tender to get on it with cattle, got some sheep in, owner nearly wet himself with excitement, sheep will be gone by 7 feb, brought some more in yesterday, their grazing 12 in underwater. What pees me off, can grow grass all winter, and f-all all summer. Sheep should give it a nice quick trim, there's too much there, if we get those cold east winds, there wont be anything left, seen it before.
Feel for you with gipo's, with them about, you can never relax. Although cousin farms on the outskirts of a town, virtually every field has a well worn track round it, dogs taken off leads, for a run, cyclists, moterbikes, and 'we arn't doing any damage, just out for a walk', Then there is the problem of gates, from their gardens, into the fields, and mouth fulls of abuse. We had to pull out of some silage ground, one hot summer, metal detector, going of every few yards, ring pulls of beer cans etc, barbies smelt nice though. So perhaps the gypo are not quite as bad, you know exactly what happens.

Dafydd keeps telling me their working on it for payment with Bacs.
I keep telling him back if Bradburn Price in Mold can do it anyone can ! 🤬
A right pita getting paid by cheque. Had the car booked in for an mot after lunch today, so thought I would go early and drop off the cheques off at the bank, they have been sitting in the drawer for 3 weeks ! Bloody place closed due to staff shortages due to covid. Checked hsbcs website, Denbigh branch closed at two, so had to make a trip to Mold (open till 4)
Be less hassle taking the calves to Mold, and them paying by bacs a week later.
Pay into HSBC accounts at the post office
