Did anyone see the cows go through at Sedgemoor today?
Just looked at prices and they don't seem overly dear. Has the numbers depressed the trade slightly?

If you can organize it so they run loaded on the road as it’s built they do a hell of a good job packing it.
Yep, lay away from the quarry. Run loaded, tip and then turn empty on the field and get back on the track.
Then the last day, 2 swingers and the roller will tidy they edges up and make the camber

told today, trades patchy, ok for the very best. Also told, here in the west country, a lot of cows coming on the mkt in april.
A reminder to those buying cows, to check BOTH eartags, just been sorting out a problem with a cow, with 2 different tags, large plastic one, new, because lost it, matches the passport, but the metal tag, has a different number, cow bought may 2017, from a farm sale, having checked back through the records, to confirm facts, she was bought i/c for £735, and sold again, last week, for £1130, i/c. Proper fr cow, looking smart for 5th calver, av 7650 litres at 4.6 fat and 3.24 protien, good buy i think.

Muller given 34 farms their notice, for similar reasons meadow did with quite a lot of theirs. Penalising the smaller producer. We’d be gone if we were on with them.

it will end up with each processor, having a close ring of dedicated suppliers, producing milk, specific to their requirements, anybody out side of that, will be either charged for transport, or discarded. Transport is the killer, and transport costs will only go one way.

Why do you buy and sell so many cows?
