Thats the plastic maize drilled.
Had to run in front of the drill with a powerharrow to bring moisture up to help with the pre em.
Hopefully there will be condensation under the film to aid germination.
Looking at the forcast, we will go the whole of April without a drop of rain!

Maize was being drilled round us without plastic today. Don't reckon soil temp could be much more than 5 degrees

I want to take the sleepers infront of the dry cow cubicles out to improve air flow and lunging. Only problem is the some of the milkers are the otherside. I'm worried about a dry cow walking through to get back to her mates and getting milked.

Anyone got any suggestions?

If it stays dry like this we won't ploughing too far ahead of the planter.

That's probably best I thought about clamping it on the girder or cubicle post that way you could adjust it if it interfered with them getting up.

Probably best on the cubicle post to stop them going too far forward and getting stuck. I could even leave 1 or 2 sleepers in the bottom to help with that.

we put a rail through, to stop anything creeping through. We put it halfway, that interfered with lunge room, so moved it up to a quarter, from the top, works a treat.

they go through. Or Atleast ours do.
I’ve replaced our ratchet straps twice, about every three years. Even tec screwed onto every cubicle post you get the odd smaller cow squeeze under. The rebar idea looks better for a shed side as ours have no walls.

Yeah I've clamped a lorry strap to every post and they just walk straight under it.
