I wish all mine looked like that!
need to listen to the free advice, on here !
no two seasons are the same, last year, absolutely desperate for grass, only made 20 acres first cut, that went with h/rye, cows grazed virtually everything, just a few odd round bales, 120 ton bought in hay, eaten as well, plus 1 feed a day, of forage rape. Autumn rain produced a lot of baled silage, maize yielded well, bought 100 ton maize silage, another 100 ton hay, and bale/pit silage, and outwintered a lot on kale. This year, have already made more silage than last yrs total, 3rd cut his week, probably another, and maize looking ok, grazing grass up and down, with weather, but baled some as well.

Don't worry I am! Dry cows and on-call heifers out to mop up what the milkers haven't finished before going into standing hay, I'll cut the rest of the field and another 8 acres they were meant to graze. Milkers are onto this tonight, only issue is they have to cross the road to get to it and its 1km of walking each way, but with the way grass is growing I'm hoping it won't be long until the stuff that I cut is back ready for grazing!

No second photo is what has been the cows day paddock but that haven't been eating it down well enough and it's not good enough quality imo (too many seed heads and stem and not enough leaf!)but I could be wrong as haven't been doing it for long enough really!
I'm too embarrassed to show you the aftermath of what they have been grazing at night 🙈 theres a lot of spraying I need to get on with and reseeding around the yard but haven't got the money at the minute so will have to wait until the autumn or next year
1st pic looks grand. 2nd picture is that the same paddock?
