Personally i think its good everyone is different. You seem to think unless someone does the same as you they’re wrong. A farm can be completely different ground to their neighbours & needs to be farmed accordingly. One size certainly doesn’t fit all.Let’s no forget And graze with sheep
Are you not milking with robots?Personally i think its good everyone is different. You seem to think unless someone does the same as you they’re wrong. A farm can be completely different ground to their neighbours & needs to be farmed accordingly. One size certainly doesn’t fit all.
Our cows won’t be going out this year & i’m actually glad. Grazing doesn’t suit how this farm is situated & i’m excited to see what we can achieve with the gates shut. But i’ve got nothing against grazing if thats what suits. What ever floats your boat.

Got a field ploughed and reseeded in early SeptemberNew seeds coming along well but no danger of turn out just yet. Ground still very soft here.
Will be as soon as Western Power manage to pull their finger out from where it seems fairly well stuckAre you not milking with robots?
With that lot I'm afraid it won't just be their finger, probably thumb, fist and arm as well! Will be as soon as Western Power manage to pull their finger out from where it seems fairly well stuck
Very true. What you describe would have me putting the for sale sign quicker than your robots could attach the units.Personally i think its good everyone is different. Nothing wrong with in ayr if done wellVery true. What you describe would have me putting the for sale sign quicker than your robots could attach the units.
don’t think my bank manager would be best pleased either.
Agreed but the thought of doing the same thing every day 365 is truly awful. Especially if housed 365.Nothing wrong with in ayr if done well
Better off doing in ayr well than grazing badly
Still know plenty of dairy farmers set stocking!
As my son is realising after 12 yearsAgreed but the thought of doing the same thing every day 365 is truly awful. Especially if housed 365.
Doesn't matter what way you farm,no two days are ever the same. Something sh!t will happen every day!Agreed but the thought of doing the same thing every day 365 is truly awful. Especially if housed 365.
Without trying to offend anyone but milking hundreds of cows giving a few squirts each doesn’t interest us one bit. With extremely limited grazing land we couldn’t do it anyway.Agreed but the thought of doing the same thing every day 365 is truly awful. Especially if housed 365.
I learnt very quickly that making plans is all well and good but you need to be able to change them in an instant, whether that be daily, weekly, monthly or long term plans, they all need to be flexible!Doesn't matter what way you farm,no two days are ever the same. Just ask @Jdunn55 .
