When you do the road crossing, walk the cows as far as you can get from the steading on the platform, get back for breakfast to find a little group of newbs standing at the collecting yard gate 🙈

Nice cow. Perfect condition 👍
Sat here doing my bills. It reminded me have you managed to get all your vAt back yet ?
Firstly thankyou, really like that cow!
Thought I'd reply now I've managed to phone hmrc, I have my vat number but am not allowed to submit a return until July by which point it will be close to £20,000 of vat due to fencing stuff. Going to have to speak to the bank manager nicely now because I'm not going to be able to pay anyone ☹

Why aren’t you allowed to submit a claim?

Why aren’t you allowed to submit a claim?
So when we got our number and finished putting together the claim for the first 12 months it was April (our quarter ended in march)
So went to change it to monthly in the hopes we could submit this month qnd have the money by the end of the month, anyway thats been accepted but only comes into effect from the end of this quarter apparently 😡

Plenty will be speaking to the manager without that looming over their heads. The cost to just stand still is now a lot more than this time last year. Your doing just fine

we had a big VAT repayment due in, it never appeared in our account, bank manager was getting pissy about it, VAT said it had been paid, exact time, date and amount, when it was paid.
Bank getting really pissy, just under £6,000, They were adamant they hadn't received it, so, back to VAT, really nice, helpful chap, what he did, was issue a demand, to the bank, to repay that money, within 24 hrs, and they would send me a cheque - unusual. That's what happened, the original payment, got 'incorrect handling', at the bank, and landed in a holding account somewhere. You would have thought the bank, being given exact time, would have been able to trace it, no, as far as l could see, it was my fault, my loss. In fact, l don't think they would have tried to trace that money, if VAT, hadn't asked for repayment, and, according to VAT, it was a common problem, and they reckoned, some of these 'holding' accounts had £millions in them, because banks simply didn't check them, unless forced to.
No, apology from bank, the opposite, they really really hate VAT 'problems', they cannot argue, delay, any demand from VAT, our money, was probably repaid almost immediately. Learnt a lot from that nice VAT man.

Uh oh bales going in today to stretch out the grass as all the rain forecast for next week has disappeared :(

What are all the other grazers doing as I can't be the only one that will run out of grass if I carry on as I am right now?
