That’s a proper stone! You’re very lucky to have clay on site, damn all here unfortunately, plenty of stone mind you!
Perhaps you’ll put some pictures of the latest project up some time?
Coming along nicely thanks still probably a good mounth away getting the cows on it.

drench with veg oil
Thought oil only works with frothy bloat caused by clover.

Edit

You need to stick a hose pipe into its stomach.

Another field fenced! Cows are catching the fencers up now!
Got told without a doubt this was the hardest field he's ever had to fence, broke his post banger on day one 🙈

An interesting one this morning....
I've a cow here that belongs to a friend, he did his ai course a couple of years ago and had ai'd several cows for me with no success. He ai'd his one to sexed Jersey and got it in calf, bloody typical I thought! She was due yesterday, calved today, not only is it not a heifer, its not even a Jersey! Not sure how it happened but looks like our Longhorn bull got there first.

should have asked him if he had used Gloucester semen, and diverted the blame away, from your randy bull !
There was a moment of panic from Mrs G as we have some expensive longhorn straws in the tank, she questioned if one of them had been used by mistake. I'm sure it was a Jersey straw used as I recorded the details off the straw on to herd companion as she was served.

Can’t see the benefit of fixing at that. I am regularly wrong though.
Trouble is prices bandied about are kind of irrelevant. Its whats in it for the money that matters. I know of summer prices for 18% from £320 upwards. Speaking to someone recently putting cake a reasonable bit over £400/t through a robot. But they only feed grass silage & pump out serious litres. It’s a very high spec cake with lots of added extras.

our feed company, simply refuses to offer forward contracts, don't really blame them either, so much uncertainty, how could they ? My 30 acres of corn, looks a increasingly good idea.

or as @Wesley says, good, or full of crap fillers. At least we know exactly what our wheat, will be. and no cheap fillers in it, either.
