Seed was £35-37acre then I direct drilled it into last autumn maize stubble, mid May.

We usually run short of good grub this time of year, and the cows usually get fed up of the same paddocks so a few fresh feeds are very grateful. This year a bit different, lots of grass about, have autumn born calves on it but they arnt doing, I'm thinking of swopping them around with some older beef, cows going dry so heading for big third cut.

We had a lot of rain here last week, slurry/dirty water om 2nd cut long washed in, clovers are looking strong, couple off feilds like white carpets.
I was expecting to have to sell some tb stores as carrying a lot more stock than previous but I think we will be fine, am still learning how much we can grow organic.

I’ve got Wagyu calves here, with nowhere to to, as the chap who’s supposed to have them, doesn’t seem keen to collect!

No, 10 bales will do 3 feeds I hope, just gonna watch for them heating to quick

Grass is quite dry, even though it's green, was only going to do 6 bales, but seem to have forgotten how to count

Lots of good examples of feeding silage bales / clamp silage in thin lines on the platform, does anyone do it with maize silage?

Always struggle with growing grass here, maize is THE crop for dry areas...
