Been on full winter ration for 34 days, not great but what else can you do when you’ve got no grass.Snap opened pit yesterday. Oad milking, tad coming to the yard
What brand did you buy? I need a clean face and also need to be able to carry and stack volume in a shed for 3-4 days which I won’t achieve with a shear grab as the grabs are too small.
Trewithen have Arla deliveries daily anyway, and Brooker of Arla so can't really see that happening, but Trewithen are desperate for milk certain months of the year.Heard a tale from our tanker driver that Arla are selling milk to Rodda's who in turn are selling it to Trewithan Daries.
As cool as it looks I need something to set blocks in to keep fresh for a few daysView attachment 1054344Local merchant had one of these, look’s some tool. Guessing be a hefty price tag
I can take 800kg in my shear grab currently but won’t get enough for a few days. It’s the height I’m after, my skills of stacking two on top will be a constant issueBuy a decent sheargrab! you can leave perfect blocks of grass silage if your careful and could possibly even stack the blocks 2 high.
I think redrock made a grab with a push off action. Would make it an option for what your needing as that would help stacking one on topI can take 800kg in my shear grab currently but won’t get enough for a few days. Must be true if it came from the tanker driver .....or a contractorHeard a tale from our tanker driver that Arla are selling milk to Rodda's who in turn are selling it to Trewithan Daries.

I've never been so confident I can win something in all my life...I refuse to be outdone by @Jdunn55 with his altercations.
Had 2 heifers calf on Wednesday night in a piece of rough grazing, bracken, stream, wooded parts.
All fine Thursday morning both heifers and their heifer calves there, both drunk all good.
Plan to run them in Friday morning, yep all heifers present and correct, only one calf. We spent 2 hours walking round but can't find 2nd calf, speak to neighbour in case gone up the stream under the wire , nope nothing. Mother very blasé about no calf.
So we run them all in, split off 2 heifers and one calf. Heifers milked last night, turned out with cows calf tucked into calf shed.
This morning mother of calf we put in shed up by gate calling. No sign of other heifer but given yesterday she didn't give a feck didn't think anything of it.
Popped down shifted fence for cows this morning and drove over to see if any sign of calf.
Just in around the corner was said calf, with mother happily having a drink. She was supposed to be 3 fields and across a road away, but she obviously knew where she had left it.
Few electric fences to mend but hey ho, as the book says " any fool can be a dairy farmer" @Jdunn55 you should read it!
I think the sun had rights to the article first actuallyMust be true if it came from the tanker driver .....or a contractor

The past few years our Saputo contracted milk has gone straight from farm to Roddas factory. Not this year though so Saputo are obviously short. An artic tanker has been dropped from from the West Cornwall round as milk has dropped significantly. Another local herd is being sold in a few weeks so that will be another one less to collect.
