I've been watching my linseed yields decline over the last. 4 or 5 years.
We have a sludge producing facility just down the road and they are very keen to supply sludge on the basis of if conditions are right for spreading then they will deliver. So I've got my maize and S Barley land covered and it has me wondering about the linseed ground

Cheap to grow and when it goes well has a gross margin that can thrash the pants of a 4 ton acre crop of wheat

I wouldn’t go too high with your seed rates this year. Flat, late linseed is nobodies idea of fun!

Is it spring or winter linseed?
i've seen sewage sludge used on linseed and it seems to help crops get up and go, especially the winter linseed.

You just keep the spare knife for linseed only and go... no problem.

I was cutting at 10 k this last harvest , that I would say was pretty good. Okay I got bored after a few runs of having to be on my guard at that speed and slowed down to 8 k which was a better speed for my brain to operate

That's not good news , drilled mine at the weekend in the hope of some rain that was due to happen on Tuesday for us,,,,,,,, it didn't.
In my experience of linseed it prefers to be drilled in the middle to end of April when there's a bit more warmth, when I have ventured out earlier in past years I ended up with flea beetle problems
