Agreed - bloody good product, but needs to be at £10 / hd. Jab em at turn out. Nothing to worry about til housing then

Lowered the worm burden signifìcantly

Before these were made in used to inject 3 times with lavemasol

Never stoped using them, but use the finnisher one instead. A bit cheaper, only 5 doses. Works here. Easy and simple, but ££££

I only started using them when we sent stock to the grazing marsh,they did great but I went off them when the price lifted,I used Cydectin LA ever since and dropped huskvac at the same time,no regrets since.

Used them for years, had 60 First Grazer delivered today actually. Excellent for developing immunity, no negative affects on soil biology, unlike Ivomec type products, labour saving, tax allowable, apart from being a tad expensive, what’s not to like?
Try Downland for a price.

How do you all know that there is no effect on soil biology?

I would have thought that a rotational grazer would hardly use any wormer anyway, I have only used one dose per year for a long time, and didn't use any last year. I know my calves are older by the time they go out, but even so. Do use huskvac though.

Do them with dectomax here, 0.23p a ml bought in February. They need two doses but I don’t think handling them mid summer does them anyharm whatsoever, nice to run them over the weights and see that they’re preforming to. An Autumn born calf costs £2.75 for the season and a spring calf about £1 less. Economically it works but it not addressing the issue of soil health I’ll admit.

Haven't needed to use any wormer for years. Closed herd autumn bias bonus I guess.

What’s a closed herd got to do with worms? Surely you must worm your young stock ?

Nope, just husvac.
Do FEC's and whatnot. Never shown a need for wormers.

I'm just guessing but closed herd and dedicated youngstock ground might have something to do with it

This is where we need to get to I think, never done a fec count but fairly sure they’d manage without being wormed, it’s the huskvac element we need to put into place for lungworm, had a mate have an awful do with it a few years ago, anybody know what it costs?

This has to be the way forward, routine dosing of animals with wormers is just going to foster eventual resistance.

I didn’t think of that. How much is the husvac? Always interesting to know how other people do things.

Why? We haven’t for year's, Don't even huskvac.
