Amatron 3 / rtk

Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying an Amazone sprayer with the amatron 3 controller.
Is this difficult to integrate with rtk?

Hey jms37, if you're already running RTK do you have an Isobus terminal already? You may well get better functionality in terms of mapping and section control features through that and have a higher spec implement if ordered ISobus spec without an Amazone terminal. Just be aware whatever option there may well be rate and section control activations required... can be expensive!

No I haven't got rtk yet. I'm trying to keep myself covered for it in the future.
The Amazone dealer is unsurprisingly recommending amatron- easier compatibility for boom shut off etc.

It doesn't necessarily need to be at RTK level of accuracy either. Practically every receiver on the market will be able to give you an NMEA output stream from a serial port, at lesser levels of accuracy. NMEA 0183 is just a standard data output for connecting devices and exchanging data.

Whatever terminal you settle on make sure it will be as open and upgradable in future - and check to see how much the unlock codes are for section control, VRA etc. Check to see what options and how straightforward it is to get field and job data to and from of the screen and any additional or ongoing fees for doing so (especially if it's over the mobile network).

Most dealers should be able to give you a proper demo/walk through of their screen so you can get a good feel for the layout and menus etc and your preferences.
