Does anybody use one for direct drilling? Just had a demo and was reasonably impressed. I would have thought it was better than a sprinter.
I pulled it through a dead lawn of blackgrass and a self set thick patch of phacelia and it didn't block. The narrow coulters are lower disturbance than a dutch opener I would have thought. 16.6cm row spacing. What is not to like. Probably could do with some front depth wheels if I was to be critical.

Had one on demo to drill winter wheat. If I didn’t have it wouldn’t have got drilled. Bought one for this spring. spring barley into lightly disced, DD into sprayed off stubbles. All coming up very well. Had an OSR field half a right off. DD into it last Monday sprayed off on Friday coming through today. The front cutting discs help with the depth.

Have DD wheat into last year's osr and wheat stubbles coming a treat , drilled beans into failed osr ok but too wet and slots now opening up, catching it just right is vital , I think the wavey discs would help create bit of tilth / reduce smeared slot . Twin hopper excellent.

I used to have and loved it. Would still have it if I had the turbo disc on the front. We needed to drill into cover crops so now have gone to a disc drill. We had the fertilzer version which helped with the spring crops. Couldn't drill osr with fert because it mixes it in the seed line and it burns half the seeds. Best drill I have had. Alot better than the Horsch Co drill.

What fertiliser were you putting down the spout?
