Amazone drill

Its just the calibration book ,
Do you know wayne at pecks spalding , very helpfull chap ,and i have just sent rupert the amazon man a message to ask him if he had a parts diagram
And is 17 turns the right amount 🤔🤔
I would go out and drop oil out of box and see if all fingers are moving , and maybe contact who you got it off and ask if any books

It says 17 turns for 1/40ha has a sticker on side of drill.
I have a photo copy of manual doesn’t say anything about the gearbox though. , can’t find anything on amazone parts website on gearbox either

Ok , i just had the seed rate go down during the day earlier this year ,wasn’t sure what the problem was, after a few tweaks here and there this cured problem. The metering wheel ran smooth just slipping a little !!

Sorry to hijack this thread but has anyone got any feedback on the amazone ad402 piggy back drill good or bad. I'm tempted to have a deal on one but I haven't had any experience of them other than a 3m one like a Nordsten I used for a few hours while at college.

we had a 302. 3mtrs v 4 mtrs. a good drill but like most amazone stuff a bit fiddly to set up but once done is accurate. discs are best unless you are on light soil. be aware that they don't actually sow 3mtrs wide more like 2.9 so probably the 4mtr will be a bit short as well. not a big put off as otherwise they are an excellent drill.

I have a 3m AD 02 on a tyre packer behind a power harrow.
Good simple drill, tramlining mechanism is easy to watch, its bob on accurate, no worries there. No howling fan screaming away all day as well.
Downsides are filling, and changing variety of seed. The 3m isnt too bad to fill but the 4m would be a pain unless it has the little levelling auger along the top, if you have a good tele then fill from the side and pull the bag back to the loader. Emptying isnt hard but its a faff compared to a hopper on an air drill. If its done a lot of work then as said above the gearbox can wear inside, it wont stop but can reduce overall rate, mine is set at 100 on lever(full out) and is struggling to do 240kg/ha on barley.
Tramliner works using an metal wheel which trips everytime you change the marker, new ones to change tramline width are near enough £100, so make sure its got the right one, a 4m on 24m tramlines needs a 12 or 18 tooth wheel for example.
Coulters wear on the mounting pivot, new bushes and bolts can help. As said they can be tight on width, I moved my coulters out as far as possible and it just makes it now. Following harrow works well if its set correctly at the right height.
Amazome stuff is well made and strong. I like mine fine, and would be happy to have another.

@ploughman Have you sorted it
@robbie ,ad 4000 here , simple mechanical drill , accurate , tim smith is your man for parts been today , for some power harrow bit , he has every thing , and very helpfull , found me some drawings and parts ,looking at putting an auger in hopper as theyndid on old ad 2 drills for easier filling ,
You need a 3 gallon bucket ,to level seed out in box , and always run a bit less in the side where level sensor is and keep other side a bit fuller , so you dont run out .
It will be auger ,or modify an old bucket ,with a flap in it so it comes out even only down side getting hopper level , other wise so simple and nowt really to go wrong
