Amazone trailed sprayer issue

I am currently running an amazone ux3200 super s 27/28m, thru-out the season the accurancy of the machine has gotten worse .... Cant seem to apply enough/correct rate, over 13ha at 200 lts...i am over 150 under what should be applied!! Speeds match up with tractor radar.. Impulses per 100m have both been done with radar and metering wheel... Jug tested this morning and all seem to be normal! Suggestions are welcome

Is it the same set of wheels on the sprayer all season? Also have you checked the line and nozzle filters? Nozzle filters would be the cause of such an issue on my amazone sprayer.

The little filters behind each nozzle. Mine doesn't have tripple nozzles, but when you twist the cap and remove it with the nozzle, there is a little filter. It either sticks to the back of the nozzle with a rubber washer or stays lodged in the out let. Photo shows what it looks like when it gets really bad!

If you have inline filters on boom then chuck those top hat filters in the bin.
First thing man from Amazone did on mine the day he came to start me of with new machine.
I give inline filters a wash out every 10-12 tankfuls. Flow rates are reduced if you let them clog up too much.

I just have the two main filter on the sprayer plus all the jets do have a filter.... Rekon chuck them away and it will cure it? As i say... On a jug test its spot on

Does the pressure on the control box exactly match the boom line pressure?

Get hold of a small pressure gauge and nozzle cap and a fitting, take a nozzle off and replace with the pressure gauge, start spraying on manual, wind it up to 3 bar ish with all the boom sections on, and then make sure that the line pressure matches that on the box.

If it doesn't you aren't spraying at the pressure the box is saying that you are hence under or over dosing can easily occur.

Hope this helps

Don't have any knowledge on the Amazone sprayer, but as the first post states that jug testing was accurate I doubt filters are the cause.
Is the rate controller pressure or flow based ? I have had flow meters deteriorate causing incorrect application rates.

My UF1501 has had a similar problem last year. The first thought by dealer over the phone was DUS playing up but since I don't have DUS the next thing was the section valves. I replaced these which helped then someone suggested cleaning the maintainance free agitation valve which cured the problem. I hopenthis helps. I found that running at 120% of actual rate workednspot on for most of the season while I tried to get it sorted.

Im currently 20% higher at the moment... Is it an easy enough job cleaning the agition valve? All filter are clean..... The big filter in the cannister is a nightmare to put back on!

It may be leaking back to the tank through the section control valves. Undo the large return pipe on the side of the line of control valves, on our mounted sprayer it is on the righthand side looking at the back of the machine. It should only be hand tight. Turn all the sections on, then start the pump. There should be no leaks. If there are, then you need to change the washers in each section valve. It is a pretty simple job, but they are very tight, so heat them up and get some spares as they can split.

On my 1501 the self cleaning valve is not bad to do, it screws off and hey presto your into it. As @Lamprz says re-section valves I would suspect this will be the case. It took me over half a day to do and is quite fiddly for farmer fingers/ After doing my own it still wasn't quite right and someone suggested the (non) self cleaning valve.

the only way rate can vary is if flow meter sending bad signal back to controller. If filters blocked your pressure would be through the roof. Either flow meter or if flow meter ok you are returning to much to tank so check section valve leek as stated above.

A trick for re-seating your main suction filter is to tell the control box to suck in more water, put the pump into gear and set the outside controls as if you were going to fill the tank. Have the cap on over you filling port. The suction/vacuum will pull the suction filter into place. You might need to equalize the pressure to be able to twist it to lock. A bit of grease round the filter will also help produce a water tight seal.

one advantage of pressure control sprayer, no section bypass valves to set, no internal leaks to miss, less pipe work to flush on sprayers without boom recirc
we had a sprayer with pressure control. had to ajust the section control valves to make sure the pressure remained the same as individual sections were switched of. always had to reset them for a change of jet size.
