Amazone Uf1801 pump

Morning all, I’m running a 2013 Amazone Uf 1801 sprayer. The rear oil reservoir on the pump no longer holds oil, you top it up and it’s gone within an hour. Will this be the diaphragms? Is it a big job? Machine still runs fine, no noises, no loss in pressure etc....

Any help much appreciated, thanks.

What type of pump is it? Diaphragms aren't too hard to do. Could it have been frosted. Oil in top bowl normally goes like mayonnaise if seals gone.

Frost shouldn’t have got to it no. Oil in the top bowl looks fine and holds its level, just the oil in the rear reservoir. Top it up in a morning and it’ll be empty by end of the day but no visible leaks

My amazone ug sprayer has two pumps in line. The main one is 6 diaphragm and the other 4. Each has its own oil reservoir which goes cloudy or loses oil if a diaphragm splits. Mine are comet pumps which are simple enough to replace the diaphragms. You just need to methodically remove the valves noting which way round they go. Keep taking pictures as you go for reference. Ensure the pump is well flushed out otherwise your new oil will go milky if contaminated.

Yeah that sounds like my pump without just looking at it. I’ll get it stripped down and have a look ?. Thanks for your help

Do you have a front tank? If so it will be fitted with 2 pumps. 6cyl comet for spraying, 3cyl comet for front/rear transfer/mixing. The 6cyl oil reservoir is on left front above the chemical bowl. The 3cyl reservoir is on the pump accessable from rear under boom. If you have no front tank you don't need the 2nd pump, disconnect it.
Normally change the diaphragms every 2 years, valve springs every year. Easy to do as already said.

We get our pump parts from Billericay Farm Services. They are local to us but I'm sure they will deliver. Genuine Amazone were a lot more expensive but marked the same as they are comet pumps. There are 2 types of diaphragm. Black ones and Clear ones. Not sure of the difference. Both will fit but ours came with the clear ones so I replace like for like.
Tried getting 2 years out of the valve springs but ended up with to many broken half way through the second year so change them yearly. You can do the springs without removing the pumps.

we had a landquip sprayer with an a&r ? pump, ran it for 6yrs and never had to replace a diaphram or valves. admittedly it covered only about 30,000 acres in that time but sprayed a lot of suspension type products (trace element powders/granules) but always well washed out.

Thanks for your help, ordered the black ones today of my local amazone dealer. Will probably end up getting shafted on price but I needed them sharpish.
What acreage are you putting through yours a year? We’re only just getting going at the job, spray around 5k a year mixed cereals, maize and grassland.

What's your location? Always helps folk recommending local sources of parts. Near to me is Spraytrac in North Yorkshire who is often posting parts all across the country on next day mail, I'm sure Anglia Sprayers, Avison Sprayers, Peter Rhodes etc etc etc either might be on your doorstep or be able to post parts.

Most sprayers have their wet system built from parts from a few main companies (teejet/arag/safi/spraying systems/comet/AR) as examples and so usually you don't need to go to the name on the sprayer for a leg lifting on parts

I’m based in Lancashire nr Lancaster. I tend to use Lyods ltd for immediate Amazone parts and I’ll shop about for just general parts. There are a few men lower down country John Rhodes, spray trac etc that I can call on
