Just be aware, the US is a large landmass with a large variety of landscapes, geographies, climates, environments with just as big a variety of farmers / farm businesses.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that what a few high profile you tubers do is necessarily representative of the wide diversity that is US ( or Canada or NZ or Australia etc etc ) agriculture

I know why trucks from here don’t work there. I wasn’t saying the UK should use them. It was simply saying we don’t use and rely on tractors in the same way as the UK. PUH aren’t a necessary convenience.
Puh are used for everything
I couldnt be arsed using a drawbar and having to get out to line up a pin and put it in, never mind having to jack it up or down

Would you farm 6000 acres in the uk with 1 combine and less than three tractors?
I have 2 neighbouring farms that cover 6000ac. Both have a single combine (one sometimes brings in a little help) and about 3 tractors.
The Larson farms setup is a lot of manpower and machinery required for a short weather window. Maybe more affordable out there? The colour of the soil might tell a story...
The UK can be difficult but we really have it easy. We don't have nature trying to eat or destroy us a lot of the time!

I've read that the Larsons do some contract land work such as excavations and drainage work including box scrapers, so I think the larger Quadtracs are partly for that work.

The larson farms "shop" is really incredible. Essentially an aircraft hanger! What I can't work out is that they apparently farm 6k ac which is the same as a large agri business here but they have a multitude of machinery. At least 3 quad track, many other tractors, at least 2 combines.
The "elevator" is also truly impressive!

This was the workshop on a 75,000ac farm we harvested at. There is an actual aeroplane in the corner! Quicker than a pickup truck apparently for crop scouting

I think its a 60ft drill unfolded (might be wrong on the width), but it was one of 6 we counted. IBC's on the right are herbicide and behind the wall on the right is an accommodation area for the casual workers.

The farm is actually for sale: https://montanaranches.com/big-horn-farm-18000000-hardin-mt/ A bargain at £350/acre! And it's only been a farm for about 40 years
The 75,000ac operation we harvested for comprised of this, and another 2 units, one of which was Camp Four, once part of the largest privately owned wheat farm in the world at 95,000ac. There's a bit of history here: https://www.bighorncountymuseum.org/structure/campbell-farming-camp/

This is the yard itself, and we harvested most of the fields around it. https://www.google.com/maps/place/45°24'50.0"N+107°53'43.0"W/@45.3985805,-107.9241922,9636m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d45.413889!4d-107.895278?hl=en

The fields were simply named by their acreage on the Greenstar system, as follows:

All in all a pretty incredible place to farm

6kac each (Mainly contracting) One is in Essex and one in Suffolk as we are on the boarder!

The Larson operation makes sense if there is more contracting. Looks like a number of families and staff working there though.

Having done a few buildings recently I wish I had added some of their ideas.... The indoor washdown facility and multibay garages I might have to add!
