An historic day for the UK......

I don't want to see no deal, but it's time to get on, this deal is as good as we're going to get IMO.

Boris is obviously on good terms with the EU as he was almost giving hi 5s to the representatives with big smiles, so probably the best time to leave rather than things going stale again.

I get the impression that if it's this deal doesn't get through we won't leave at all.

Looks like he will get it through on monday.Sad day for all.Nothing we can negotiate over the next 14 months will be as good as we have now.If the ERG get their way, there will be no deal even then.

But there’s not many of them, if opposition mp,s who were voted in on a manifesto of delivering Brexit got behind the deal the ERG would be irrelevant.
It is not the vote for this deal.Johnson will eventually win it.It is the trade negotiations going forward over the next 14 months that matter now. There is only one conclusion what they will be like for UK agriculture!

The one single thing missing from the deal that would have seen it passed today was the fact that Boris didn't hold out for a Belfast agreement type vote to be had in stormont, rather than simple majority. He crumbled.
Correct, and this point was expanded upon by Sammy Wilson and Emma Little Pengelly, who made the argument that if we followed the governments attitude to a simple majority vote in the deal then why couldn't this point be used to form an executive given that a majority of NI parities want Stormont up and running without preconditions apart from PSF.

TBH, not many of us have studied the deal. We're that pee'd off with the last 3 years, we'll agree to anything. You know how torture works.....We could have agreed to another 1000 years under the EU for all I know.

The EU playing a blinder so far. Always tricky when your own players do not really want to be there - reminds me of Sanchez last few months at Arsenal. But wait until the Free Trade Talks get started - I think the EU will play another blinder. Be good to watch. hey ho.

All of you, remember the precedent set by the Supremes, Boris will have to do what a majority in Parliament want. This may be after a GE, and he may not be sad to do it, but he will do what he is told to by Parliament - he now has to - and that will be when Mr Benn and Monsieur Grieve et al will regret the games they have been playing for so long. Not sure I can make it that simple...:pompous: but...

If public opinion is as the polls suggest, when there is a General Election Boris will win with a decent working majority. This being so and it also being so that a very large majority of retuning Tory MPs and virtually all of their PPCs are pro-Brexit, they plus the DUP could form a majority in the Commons to order the then PM, presumably Boris, to cease all negotiation with the EU until the NI matter is settled to the DUP / ERG way of thinking or, alternatively, No Deal, i.e. WTO.

This is what Letwin has been trying to avoid by his recent amendment, but, somewhat counterintuitively, he could be making it more likely. The Supremes have made it certain that a PM must follow the will of the Commons, Boris (if PM) will do so again if ordered; but, under the scenario I have described, he may not be reluctant to do so.
