And the curtain falls

*sigh*

The EU elections will be a pointer towards whether a General Election will bring forth a conclusion to Brexit or not.

Whether the "new" Conservative Leader is man or woman enough to go for it .. we will see.
You wont see a GE unless Boris or whoever try to force through a No Deal, thus resulting in the government collapsing, as such no Tory leader will risk it, as such the chaos of delivering never never land will continue for the foreseeable, the good news is the fact its likely to be the back stabbing quitter of BoJo in the hot seat from where he cant escape - perhaps the age of accountability is about to begin again. See you all in October.

No one has to force anything through, at this point of time we leave on Halloween with no deal and parliament cannot stop it unless a majority vote on a compromise which seems highly unlikely

The EU don't work for the best interests of the UK.

Westminster don't work for the best interests of the UK.

I want someone that puts the UK first, second and last.

I know what you mean & share your sentiments, but the last words of that post just don't work. ;)

I'll sit and wait for the next PM to try to get a withdrawal deal past the government, or past parliament. I don't think it's physically possible.

It will be a good start to have a PM who wants to deliver Brexit. (y)

Do you have a suitable candidate then WD?

I don't think the current Conservative/Labour/Liberals/SNP/Greens will work with the UK outside of the EU.

I think even if we Leave the current bunch in Westminster will do everything they can to make a mess of things.

If we are Leaving then we need a clean slate .. which includes the Lords and Civil Service.

Brexit will need more than 'a good start'.

How many hundreds of MPs don't want a No Deal Brexit, or any Brexit at all.

I estimate about 350 don't want No Deal and about 250 don't want any Brexit. My guess is that, assuming a rather pro-Brexit new PM (i.e. Tory leader), there will be a lot of talk from Downing Street regarding a General Election on the key issue of leaving, no deal or with a Canada +. This would be important because it will focus a lot of Tory MPs' minds on deselection by constituency associations who are very pro-Brexit.

I know our constituency are very upset with our MP. We are a predominantly leave area and she has voted against this at every opportunity. The grassroots are planning to deselect her at the first chance, I can only assume this will be happening elsewhere too. The Labour party will be undergoing the same thing, their supporters are as... peeved... as we are.

Yes, I was surprised by this fact.

47% of Labour supporters are pro Brexit and will not necessarily vote for the Labour Party at the next general election.

A new chapter in this miserable car crash of British political history to begin.
I'm wandering how anyone in the government can get this Brexit process done with the numbers in the Commons. Whoever wants to be PM must be crazy or stupid or probably both.
It looks like the most likely scenario is that the EU chuck us out in October like Macron wants.

Oh, Ok, so only a complete regime change then. Trump to extend his visit?

Wish I could do swivel eyes :)

Thank goodness, stupid mare has swam against the tide for too long while being encouraged by pro eu civil servants . It needs a brexit voting pm now who will cull the civil servants who have hijacked democracy and wasted millions of pounds and 3 yrs of time. Lets leave in october now with or without a deal and move the job along
We'll see. I agree it will be one of the arch Brexiters. Let's see how they get on. Whatever, once (if) implemented it will be the end of their political career - and they know it so I doubt there will be a huge queue
