Yeh we supply the tesco scheme, usually several weeks for the bonus.......but last one was straight away
Perhaps they have changed it recently and are paying it quicker?

I sent some a couple of weeks ago and they paid 420 and it all came 2 days later. But I'm not signed on any scheme with abp so maybe different.ABP angus go to Tesco, takes a month or so to get paid the bonus depending on what time of the month you send them.

To old/heavy for the Tesco scheme at foyle that's why they went there. How old were the cattle?
I reckon they've gone to a different end outlet, which doesn't need a contract.
If they went to the tesco scheme you would have had to sign a contact of sorts.
Depending on how old they are when I buy them I try to get them sold under 24m and definitely u28m but abp pay as much as Tesco scheme so it's not such a problem. What age would these angus cattle be when finished? On average?

Can angus not be finished quicker than 24 months? In general?
Yes, our first aa stots went off this week, 325 dead, 17 month old. No creep whilst on mother's, 2.50kg of barley, a little protein and silage for a winter then the best grass I can find them until now.Can angus not be finished quicker than 24 months? In general?
These were all about 18-21 months old and ready to go,take all our friesian steers to ABP now and they do really well, only just found out they take angus cattle at ellsmere which isn't much further away.If you hit all the bonus specs then £4.20 was about right when we sent some a month ago.
But for that you're looking at younger than 24mths and 280-330kg carcass.
Can't remember what grades are expected but we've never fallen foul of that so must be a fairly wide margin there.
You don't get the Angus bonus for 4/6 weeks later at ABP.[/QUOTE
not at shrewsbury you get it straight away up to 420ABP angus go to Tesco, takes a month or so to get paid the bonus depending on what time of the month you send them.
