Animal transport authorisation renewal

Had to renew my transporter authorisation for journeys over 65km and under 8 hours, sent the form in last week with our lantra certificates of competence.

Now have just got an email to say that the certificates are in the wrong format, so they cannot issue the renewal.

Now, I can't understand why, because they were fine in the past, and it's hardly my fault, as these certificates are the ones issued by lantra/nfu at the time.

Has anyone else had this?

Yep just had the same email, the most misleading of all emails
Now I’ve no idea how to renew in which format?

This is the body of the email:

Thank you for your application to renew your Transporter Authorisation. Unfortunately the Certificate of Competence (s) which you provided are not in the correct format and so we are unable to renew your Authorisation.

The issuing bodies, i.e. City and Guilds and Lantra, are required to issue the certificate in the format as specified in the legislation. If they choose to issue other formats in addition they can, but they must issue the required format as well. Any other version is not legally valid.

From previous discussions with the companies, they have confirmed that the required format is always issued, therefore everyone who has the qualification should already have the correct certificate to provide to the Competent Authority.

Please contact the issuing body and request the drivers certificates are provided in the correct format. An example of this is attached for your information.

Please inform us if they did not originally receive that format, as we can take that up with the issuing body.

Once you have the correct format please send to this team, including the reference number at the top of this email.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or the team if you wish to discuss this further.

I have sent a reply stating that the supplied certificates were the only ones issued by the NFU and Lantra in 2008, and have always been accepted in the past.

I'll be taking it up with the nfu if they refuse them.

This is what they have said is "not legally valid"

A fine example of pointless job creation

They refused ours.
4 of us have the certificates, one chap only has the photo id card (with all the details on it, but not in the correct format).
Took it up with the NFU and they basically said they’re not interested, as you’d expect from them really.
City and Guilds want £44 to reissue the certificate.
