Animated gifs not working

When copying and pasting from t'internet, they become .png files without the animation. Why is this? Gifs used to work when pasted into posts.

What does share picture give you?

This is getting a bit complicated to post some pictures of cats!

No paste available either. I give up! I'll just have to accept that I can't copy & paste.

This was in my own pics library and uploaded fine.

I worked out how to get my own gifs on here so here's a short lesson for anyone interested.
Some phones will take a Live Photo, hold your finger on it in the gallery and it'll move like a short movie. To turn these into postable gifs they need to be hosted by another server and TFF will display the gif from this other host rather than store and display it from its own servers. Probably technically incorrect but it's how I see it.

download giphy app to your phone/iPad and this will convert your Live Photo to a gif and give you the option of saving it on their server and offering you a link to it which you post into TFF using the standard image attachment button.
