Also the Mayo ewe bolus (4 or 5 in 1) has 350mg Cobalt vs 185mg in the Animax 3 in 1 and only 144mg in the Agrimin smartrace. The 5 in 1(with copper) is looking like it's around £1.10 per ewe. Seems about right for the TE levels and the ease of use. TBH I have great feedback from any brand as long as there actually is a TE deficiency and it's not something else causing the problems... it then comes down to price and personal preference.

Is more necessarily better though? Any more than is absorbed by the sheep each day, is going to be excreted out without benefit.

I have posted previously, mentioning the new Mayo boluses, but at £1.10 they would be 10% dearer than the Animax 3-in-1 + 4g copper capsule. Mayo might contain higher levels, but if they aren't necessary/aren't utilised, that's probably of no value.

They say that a cobalt deficient ewe requires 2mg of cobalt per day. Smartrace provides .8mg per day over 180 days and the Animax 3 in 1 provides 1.02mg per day. So I totally get where you are coming from but hence my comment on a decent price for the levels you are getting and it looks like 1.9mg per day is as good as there is out there. Saying that we still sold over 2000 Tracesure boluses today, so it's an open market - "you pays your money and takes your choice!" I guess...
