Annoying tools

I'm doing a job which involves putting nuts on several vertical bolts holding a small plate in place. There is only about 1cm gap under the end of the bolt to get the nut on, do up fingertight and then get a ratchet spanner on it. I'm using a Teng ratchet spanner, I find Teng stuff good normally but the wrench is angled, as the nut tightens up the ratchet switch hits the bottom of the plate and the ratchet reverses suddenly, skinning my knuckles. There is no room to turn the wrench over. I tried using a cheap Amazon ratchet spanner which is flat and has the switch on the side but as I only have 45 degrees of movement the ratchet doesn't even click. I could use an open ended spanner which would take an age, not helped by me doing the job on top of a stepladder.
There must be other people out there with tools that looked good at the time, but with hindsight were a waste of money ?

You want one of these, the open end is designed to roll back on the return stroke where you can't get a ring on. Facom, I think.

Any ratchet that has too much travel between the clicks in a tight space or any open ended spanner that slips off a perfectly good but inaccessible hex head along with cheap chineseum mole grips, pliers, wire cutters & screwdrivers are as much use as a one legged man in an a*se kicking competition in my book

Battery ratchet. Wasn't even a cheapo, I have to force myself to use it, totally pointless.
Plasma cutter, I am sure they are great in some situations but I sold mine, used it only a few times.
Holesaws for metal. I see video's from people using them constantly, mine are dull after one use.

I have a set of Alden Wrench open end ratchets from the USA, usually very expensive but mine were in Amazon returns for 1/3 price. Very useful

We had a valtra on demo and ended up keeping it. Only when I looked in the toolbox a month later, found a Snap-on changeable one left by a fitter. That's a good one, forgot to phone them to say I'd found it

yes ive got a plasma cutter i dont use, i get on just as well with a weld rod turned up high and used to cut thinner stuff.

but anyway got one of these things years ago got to have been the worst tool ive ever bought possibly

Think they were left in there with the 1000 PTO shaft in case we needed to swap it on the demo

You need plenty of coolant with the hole saws
I`ve gone through 25mm plate with them, no bother as long as you keep them cool

I have various bits of snap on gear
Never bought any though, although you would think I had when the bill comes in

I had one of those as well. Completely useless piece of kit. The only thing I managed to achieve with it was setting my then bosses shepherds crook on fire while he used it to hold a piece of tin in place that I was trying to braze on
