Another bloody pickup thread

what happened to all those ladies that replied to you, far more fun than playing with cars
Ah well.. The problem was the number that replied. Think there was about 40 within a fortnight. Met a few of them who were all grand, but I've lost touch/pee'd off a few because I couldn't see them all at the start:unsure:
I was like a kid in a sweet shop:wideyed:

I'm not really that in to cars to be honest. I like my landy, but it's the challenge of making something that I like. It's interesting the way you can make a flat bit of metal 3 dimensional (I know it's got 3 dimensions already)

Besides, the American girl that I met in the Chinese takeaway in town one night was fairly impressed when she asked what I did, and I pointed to the scabby black landy outside with the shining aluminium welding body on the back of it and said welding, and that was some of my work.
Imagine the birds I'd pick up in the this(y):sneaky:

(It might not be as nice as this though)

I was called by the garage at Blair atholl to weld up a Ford ranger diff cover that had rotted through, the owners son was working on a classic mini and I said that the windscreen would be spot on for the pickup project.... Oh there's a heap of old school windscreens up in the loft... Came home with 3 ,two from triumph 1300s (that was what the sticker on one said) and another which could be a triumphs too... So myself and the Taliban got cracking

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out, seen a few old beauties on holiday in Holland this week, to have a new one will be even better, plus the satisfaction of having made it yourself. Is it too early to ask if you'll have it painted shiny or will you go for the rusty patina look?
Think I'll do it in aluminium, though I've heaps of galvy sheet, but its 1.5 thick. A nice blue or possibly a yellow and black
