Another (but different) Wellie thread

I think you have to do what I did and try several pairs.
I've seen several people say that they don't like safety wellies because they are clumsy, don't fit properly and therefore not safe etc.

There is a boot out there to fit you, you just have to try and find it. It is hard because there are so many different styles available and nowhere can possibly be expected to carry more than a few different manufacturers/ranges in one shop which why I tried a few and thought it might help others if I gave some details about what they were like instead of the usual "These are crap, they split" or just "I don't like them"

Yes I am sure you are right and I know it would make sense to wear safety boots if I can find some that I get on with. Just that I hardly ever go anywhere and the local ag stores only ever stock one or two makes. Must try harder; as my teachers used to say.

Internet shopping is your friend on this one. Plus it's cheaper than diesel going to different places to try

I have worn Dickies Landmaster for years but, I believe, you cannot get them any more. Now got a pair of Belkin's and very happy with them. All non safety.

I’ve tried every pair of wellies going and the best pair so far have been my Muck Boots. Warm, comfy and don’t split like others.

However I won’t be buying another pair. They are far too dangerous to wear on a dairy farm. Zero grip on concrete especially slats. Foot slips on the clutch of the tractor and so on. I have managed to get 4 months out of them so pretty impressed. Normally a pair lasts me 6-8weeks.

Now the only brand left I haven’t tried and is my last hope is Le Chameau. What type or wellie in Le Chameau brand is best for farming/dairy can I ask?

I want to test and see what all the hype is about.

Go for the Le Chameau Ceres with neoprene lining. Expensive but i am yet to find anything better for comfort.

Do you need boots rated to -100 in Australia, would have thought they need to be rated to +100. Maybe you nip over to Antarctica every once in a while to cool down.

Nora's always did split at the back of the heel.

My Le Chameaus did the same. My Bogs did the same. My Bekina did the same.

I have Dunlop puroforts and they offer zero ankle support, fudging hopeless compared to the Bekinas I had.
The Bogs I had imported from America were very comfortable and warm (I used to live in wellies in previous life) but they weren't a safety version.

Ordered some noratherm s5s last night. Hopefully better than last boots I bought on Tff recommendations! Don't buy dedito wellingtons they don't last.

Never tried their thermals but the ordinary wellie is utter rubbish so I wouldn’t have much faith in what you are buying.
Useless wellie on a Dairy Farm. Got 5 weeks max out of two pairs before they fell apart.
