Another first lamb dose & fec test

I always find the strongyle count rising when I'm thinking of a second dose, so change to yellow or clear drench for that.

The clear drench doesn't do the nemo though, does it? Also, while I take your point, I'm really reluctant to buy yet another worker if i don't have resistance (this year should find out with own fecs) as the last lot of white worker I bought (1l) will last me 8 years past it's use by date if I only use it once a year and it was still cheaper than getting the vet to dispense the amount needed.

@Woolless am I correct in thinking you are looking at a second white drench for some lambs? Do you have a cut off nemo count number for treatment with a second dose or a rate of rise in mind?
After first dose, I would probably keep a watching brief at 50-100 epg nemo. Slight complication to this is that I've had to mix 80 lambs that have been on clean ground with the big mob which I've just dosed. They will be naive to any nematodirus challenge.

I think all three common anthelmintic groups will attack nemo --- but it is recommended to use the white drench for nemo as it still works (when there is high resistance to this drench from strongyles)
This saves the other drenches for the strongyle work later in the season
Does that make sense ?

Yes. So later in the season if you have low strongyles but rising nemo - use a white drench but if there are high numbers of strongyle (or rising quickly) as well use clear?

Middle been the bubble? Are other two not worms?

Yes, the middle one is an air bubble, the other two are just bits of cr*p.

As @bovine posted, how do you count without a grid of some kind? Guessing from the clarity of the bubble, I'd have thought eggs would show up OK, but unless you've got a set area (& grid) to count them over, how do you achieve an accurate('ish?) count for epg?:scratchhead:

This is my setup, what should the magnitude be. I counting eggs in 2 green squares and multiplying by 50

Finding only nemo. Did you use nemo eggs for overall count?
