Tank holds 800l
Drill is 6m for now @Clive looked into 8m conversion ? Guessing another 2 rams for the rear press wheels would complicate it ?
I think the previous owner liked welding but ahem lacked a bit of talent and resources
The rear light arms had bits of skimmer points and Kverneland plough points holding them on so today was mainly cutting away crap
I’ve had new saddles rolled for the tank and getting some 10mm plate profiled to mount it all up
Keeping it simple with a speed / pressure via spool valve flow system
Question though if I return the flow from the fert pump into the fan return to tractor pipe will it increase the return pressure too much
It’s 3/4 hose straight into tractor back end not through the spool ?
As for which product keeping it simple is paramount so 26n 5s for spring barley will be going down the Metcalfe seeder tunes as that’s all I have
I think they were talking 7n 7 p for osr ?
Although that sort of breaks the budget for osr establishment??
Looking to be somewhere near £10k in the field drilling
Had to buy a few new tyres so put new car treads on road going section
Yes they are the points of choice
Do you think the seed tube needs to be run so deep ?
Not used them yet but I was told run the tubes very near the surface ?

The person who owns this has them on a sprinter and has made boots for every one to stop them plugging when putting the drill in the ground on wet areas. It’s used for direct drilling. The tubes wear quickly as they are lightweight. I’m making a boot out of wear plate to wrap around and make a nice little slot and eradicate the chance of it plugging.
Paint had more hold than the weld
He went for quantity rather than quality
Big lump of solid round stuffed up there as well but not actually welded to anything
Bit of progress now
Tank mounted up
Went to Spray Trac this morning bit of sketching, head scratching and maths and we ended up with a plan.
Manifolds built up and mounted this afternoon
Quite a productive day
It’s alive !!
No liquid fert yet but put some barley through it today just to see how points and electrics went
Oh and pinched camera off combine and put it in tank
Can’t believe how close coupled they are anyone stretched the drawbar a bit ?
As it’s slightly damp out I decided to extend the drawbar to give a bit more clearance when turning . Not gone too far about 2 ft just to get mudguards clearing the tank
