Not here, no. If a 7t wheel drive harvester on big tyres filling trailers that weigh 3.5t on fat tyres can't travel, then patience is our only real alternative.

There's an odd one down here(y) but unless you fit wheel drive it will take more pulling than 2 row inline with wheel drive. Mind you, 5t bunker will get there and back on most fields, trailers are banned from field apart from one headland. If you put wide tyres on the tractor it has to be more off-set....that makes it harder to pull straight, sort of one step forward and two back!

That tractor and harvester wheel down the middle of the bed creates more clods and than would ever be there if you stuck with a two row.
Work of the devil single row machines.

Sorry, I took it we were talking about single row offset harvester, no wheels in crop at all, unlike 2 row.
Single row inline, quite agree,

I'm out of touch nowadays but do remember the Grimme Rowover and the Standen equivalent.
As already mentioned the wetter it gets, the harder they pulled, and the more they tried to pull the tractor into the row.
I have always thought that in a two row bed, only 2/3 of the bed width is soil, and so a lightish 2 row machine has the advantage in separation efficiency, over a single row with big a slug of soil filling the web.
