Palax combi bought new from Caledonian Forestry in 2010 with TCT blade and elevator. Will cut and auto split with 2way and 4 way blade. Presentation of log to blade by rocking motion cut made at pre determined log length the log drops into splitter for auto feed into splitter then up elevator into IBC cage. Steady pace would produce 1 IBC full per hour. Min hp required app 15.

Alternative for the smaller diameter branches

RP 200 video looks great on rotten softwood but I would not attempt it on a bit of fresh cut hardwood.

Come for a demo and bring your own wood

you would be surprised fresh oak / hard woods are no bother
Its when it dries up you have to lessen the diameter

Is it as slow as 1 m3 an hour?

Good machines, I have the same, not my favorite job though, I must admit.

If parked next the stack of wood I would do a six ton grain trailer full in an hour with a palax combi. Not six tons of wood,just the size of trailer 😉. Size of the wood makes a big difference to the output,8 to 10" split into four and not short blocks and your flying
