My Only input , mates pumped system, bunded plastic on floor , pump pumps hard , ltr counter, no filter, auto off gun .
It foams really badly, so gun knocks off , makes fuelling a boomin nightmare, several inches of foam , so ur waiting for that to clear if u want to fill owt.
If u throttle gun its better but still shite .
Are you running a David Brown?

The pump and nozzle here foams a bit, but the only machine it is a problem on is a Case 1594, with a daft intake pipe and filler position. Another good reason to use that tractor as little as possible.

I have a small tank for taking fuel to the drier, so just use that as an intermediate.

Foams on everything
Digger dumper tractor
Kubota probably worst cuz its filler on a angle

A lot of those plastic tanks are rubbish and built to a budget. The customer ticks the high speed pump box but they don’t make the nozzle and pipe bigger. This causes the frothing and foaming.
Also I would get a recoil delivery hose. These plastic ones just let the pipe sit in the bund. Believe it or not, the outside of cheap delivery pipe is not normally diesel safe, and if it sits in diesel it will delaminate and fall to bits.

Interesting
Not my tank ,my mates , tink its a harliquin 1400 ??
I always thought it pumps too hard , u don't fill quicker because ur waiting for the foam to drop , auto valve in gun kicks off.

the frothing comes from the auto shut off nozzle
it draws air in and when the diesel hits the draw point it shuts the nozzle off

Ours has an auto shut off nozzle and barely froths at all. If you have a high flow pump and a small pipe you will get a lot of frothing as the diesel is moving under higher pressure.

So if you were buying a new tank, on a reasonable budget, what would you go for? Tank type, pump type and capacity and delivery hose bore?
Piusi A120 auto nozzle.
10m of 1.5” ID hose on a 10m auto rewind reel
120lpm pump and flow meter
All available from Piusi.
Ocio tank level monitoring.
15000ltr steel tank with bund.
Cost new was less than the price of a fill.

Thanks, I wasn’t going to go that big though. 2500 litres plenty for us but you gave a good idea of what to look out for.

Definitely get a new good year hose the cheap PVC ones are horrible always twisting the wrong way cant be coiled up neat , we have steel bunded tank that came with a manual pump and a cheap hose , the hose spit after a couple of years , but had i known how much nicer the good year hose was to handle and coil up i would have binned it the day the tank arrived !!!

something like this https://www.centretank.com/products/detail/petrol-delivery-hose

a one on reel would be even better

The gun was OK on the one we had it worked and lasted but a longer nozzle would have been better as it did not want to stay in large fuel tank filler caps , can you can get a auto cut off nozzle for something that is gravity fed ?

+1 for the above, it just reminded me of this mornings wrestling match with the rabid python which wouldn't be extricated from the tank, then wouldn't rest in the filler, then the diesel ran out before it was even half full, then it didn't want to go back in the .... tank. Did I say my day dint start well?
