What makes it go behind a B250 better? Does anybody have any ideas what to do?View attachment 154698View attachment 154700
Lengthen the lower links. Will go better just a bit further away from the tractor. You will see an improvement in straightness.

Thank you David for the advice. I have since put on Massey Ferguson link arms and this has made a huge difference. Do you think a pair of YL183's will make much difference on a plough if one has Ransomes Patent on and the other the Ransomes 'R'? Both boards have the same amount of wear.

I currently have two Ransomes Kristeel mouldboards, however they are not a match pair. They both have the same amount of wear but one has the Ransomes Patient sign on it and the other is the later Ransomes R on it. Would this make any difference?

Kristeel is Kristeel whatever age. Bolt the two together with spacers and you will see immediately if the development and profile is the same. You may find some small differences which may mean the backstrap will not fit. If the holes align but the profile is wrong you can warm the offending board and pull it to the good one with a good sized clamp. You will need a ‘pepper pot’ to warm them so that the heat is uniformly distributed. If you get them too hot in a small area then they can kink instead of bending in a uniform manner. I have done a good few over the years
YL’s were still available for TS90’s. Always best for each set to be identical if you want them both to plough a similar furrow.
